named Isola delle Falcole recalling the fact that falcons have long nested in the area &#8211; has a totally southern exposure, giving sunrays full freedom to enter the vines, which is therefore ideal for ripening a variety like Sangiovese.<br \/>\nThe vineyards are located between 400 and 520 metres above sea level and the surrounding hills favour an ideal microclimate for viticulture: <strong>that means they are higher than the famous Conca d&#8217;Oro ones, but they benefit from the same terroir and exposure.<\/strong><br \/>\nIsola delle Falcole produces just over 10,000 bottles from its almost four hectares of property. <strong>The winery offers three labels,<\/strong> and each one narrates the Chianti terroir with its own personality.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;1\/2&#8243;][vc_column_text woodmart_inline=&#8221;no&#8221; text_larger=&#8221;no&#8221;]Each label is a vineyard Cru and 2017 was the winery\u2019s very first year of production: <strong>Vecchia Vigna IGT Toscana<\/strong> (approx. 6000 bottles) is a blend of Sangiovese (70%), Colorino (10%) and 5% Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo, Malvasia and Trebbiano, aged 18 months in large casks and 8 months in the bottle. The <strong>Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG<\/strong> (approx. 2600 bottles) is a 100% Sangiovese, aged 30 months in large casks and 10 months in the bottle.
